Boilermaker Trio – Cask Aged County Ale
There aren’t many Breweries or Distilleries can claim to age their ales in their own spirit barrels and vice-versa!
In this special trio pack:
1x 375ml can of County Ale 4.9%abv, our British style Amber Ale
1x 200ml bottle #32 Loch Single Malt Whisky 48%abv, ex-Bourbon casks
1x 375ml can of Cask Aged County Ale 8.9%abv, aged in the barrels that held #32 Loch Whisky
These three products showcase perfectly our ability to cross-age both brewed and distilled products, all made here in Loch under the same roof.
Once #32 Whisky was ready to be bottled, we filled the empty barrels with County Ale. It was left to age & integrate with all the wonderful whisky aromas & flavours. When ready, the County Ale was removed & canned. The very same barrels were then freshly filled with malt spirit, in time to become whisky again.
Keep an eye out for that special release in another five years or so!

This release is the first in a trilogy of Oloroso sherry cask matured whiskies released to celebrate our cellar door's tenth birthday in June 2024.
Each whisky was made with a different malt profile (Pale Ale, County Ale & Dark Ale) & then each was matured in seperate ex-Oloroso sherry casks. The different malt profiles provide a different malt backbone to each whisky & showcases how important malt is to whisky making.
